Lineage

Tascam DR-1 [built-in mic, low gain, low cut at 40 Hz, WAV 24-bit/48 kHz] > Amadeus Pro [sound panorama adjustment, EQ, normalizing, tracking, fade in/out] > iZotope RX (cleaning up some unwanted sounds) > Amadeus Pro (dithering/resampling to WAV 16-bit/44.1 kHz) > XLD (conversion to FLAC high compression) > CD(1)

Comment

Tape at the amphitheater about 8 meters above the floor, about 75 meters from the stage, equilateral triangle with the stacks. This is a complete recording of the bands nearly sold out show in Vilnius at the 2nd leg of their European "Liebe ist für alle da Tour 2009/2010". And this is the 2nd time RAMMSTEIN visited Lithuania in 9 years. The setlist is usual for this tour, just Vilnius was one the first (or first) places where the song "Du riechst so gut" was played instead of "Liebe ist für alle" (good decision IMO). RAMMSTEIN played in probably the biggest sports arena in Lithuania (capacity of about 12 000). And this is a big problem. That ferroconcrete box was built for basketball matches but not for concerts. Anyway nowadays almost all concerts of the biggest world known artists have been organized here… So, though the show was really impressive, the sound was quite bad. It was way too loud even for the venue of this size, muffled and distorted. Guitars were simply drilling my ears (I was sitting about 75 meters from the stacks!). Vocals and electronics hardly could be heard. And just some snare drum beats and pyrotechnics were able to knock some holes in that wall of noise. I was pretty sure that the recording will be worthless. But despite the fact that it is a good representation of the bad sounding concert, surprisingly the recording is quite listenable. I tried to play a bit with EQ to drag out some music from this noise. I would say it turned out not bad (5/10). Of course the recording should be played as loud as your ears could endure.
